Description: | Un preconceived work, being influenced by place. celebrating the Rise of Northwood, the re-creation of a historic woodland lost over the First and Second World Wars. |
Iconographical description: | Carving of the stone started on 29-30 November 2015 to coincide with the opening planting event for the National Trust's 'Rise of Northwood' which will re-create 185 acres of woodland on the site of ancient woodland lost through the world wars. There is an emphasis on community involvement. The 2.5 tonne stone will be worked over one calendar year and, remarkably, be moved around to different areas of the large Estate to interact with visitors. |
