Description: | Faces north-west onto the road. Square stone housing with pyramidal cap with finial. Iron handle and tap with trough below. Inscribed plaques to front and back and also set into the wall behind the pump. |
Inscription: | + ERECTED BY THE INHABITANTS OF HARTING IN MEMORY OF THE JUBILEE OF QUEEN VICTORIA 1887 Small bronze plaque affixed to the back of the pump: THE FRIENDS OF MRS. FLORENCE FRISBY RENEWED THE SEAT AND RENOVATED THE PUMP AS PART OF THE MEMORIAL TO HER LIFE AND WORK IN HARTING 1963 Long, carved stone plaque set into the back wall behind the bench: IN MEMORY OF MRS FLORENCE FRISBY 1963 Rectangular, carved stone plaque set into the back wall behind the bench: This Well was sunk and the Pump erected by the Committee of the Harting School on the Property of the School in the Year 1865 |
