Description:Wooden post surmounted by a gas lit beacon erected to commemorate the Millennium. On an arm extending from the post is an outline cut depiction of the Crawley Council coat of arms. A bronze commemorative plaque is mounted halfway up the wooden post. Faces south.
Signatures:At the top of the wooden post, steel plaque with outline cut letters underneath image of the College building:

CRAWLEY MILLENNIUM BEACON
This beacon was lit by The Worshipful the Mayor of Crawley,
Councillor Ray Calcott
on the 31st December 1999 to welcome the dawn of the 3rd Millennium.
Crawley Borough Council and the people of Crawley are grateful to the
following organisations for designing and building the beacon and
providing the equipment and materials:
Staff & Students of Crawley College Engineering Crafts, Sugg Lighting, Yeowarts Steel,
Crawley Timber Store, Crawley Parks Service, Crawley Calor Gas Centre and
Crawley Mechanical Handling
