'Metal sculptor Jon Mills was interested in the geology of the site and its social history as a port. He has created two sculptural Waymarkers for the entrance to Ropetackle, referencing fossils and land strata, as well as mechanical and rope elements reminiscent of boat paraphernalia. ''I enjoy juxtaposing contradictory motifs in sculpture, especially man-made and natural forms, in order to create a sense of irony.'' ('Sculpture at ropetackle') |
