Description: | Faces north west on grassed area at the side of the road. Erected to commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. Stone obelisk with acroteria-like top and trough. The spout is of patinated iron and has the form of a lion's head. The handle has the form of its tail. |

Top of pump, NE face, small oval inset metal plaque: 1837 Top of pump, SW face, small oval inset metal plaque: 1897 NW face, underneath oval plaque, octagonal metal plaque with raised letters: NOTICE. THIS PUMP MUST NOT BE USED FOR FILLING STEAM ENGINES ANY PERSON FOUND DAMAGING THIS PUMP WILL BE PROSECUTED Raised metal crown underneath followed by a second octagonal metal plaque with raised letters: ERECTED BY THE PEOPLE OF NEWICK, TO COMMEMORATE THE HAPPY COMPLETION BY QUEEN VICTORIA - THROUGH THE GRACE OF GOD – OF THE SIXTIETH YEAR OF HER GOOD AND GLORIOUS REIGN.
