Description:A cricketer at the wickets, standing on one leg, bat raised in the air, depicted as having just hit the ball. The ball is set some 9metres high on the wall of a nearby shop. There is a bronze plaque to the N.W. of the statue set into the paving stones.

on which the game was enjoyed for over 130 years.
