History

History:The fountain was removed from its original site in Carfax in 1947 as it was regarded a traffic hazard. It was stored for thirty years in a Council yard. In 1977 to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of H.M. the Queen it was retrieved, restored and placed back in Carfax. This was through money raised by The Horsham Society, The Museum Society and public subscription. Further developments road began in 1993 and the fountain was moved to its present site in 1994.
