History
History: | 'Horsham in Bloom wanted the Millennium Maze to be a lasting tribute to mark the move into a new Millennium. The Committee was keen to have a local theme. The maze incorporates the myths and legends that are well known in the Horsham Area. For example, St Leonard's Forest lies on the northern outskirts of the town and for generations people have believed that it was home to a dragon. The stories about the dragon brought St. Leonard to the forest where he confronted the beast. In the fight blood was spilt, and where the blood fell patches of lilies of the Valley sprang up. Today visitors to the forest will still see these ancient markers blooming every year.'
